Voila! Visas!

So we changed all our flights to Tuesday Nov 8th, and then by Friday Nov 4th (which is when our initial flight had been scheduled for) our online status of our application changed from "Passport returned to applicant" to "CLEARANCE RECEIVED"  (And yes it was in all caps).  So since they said that it was a one day process from there and that we just had to come in in the morning and by the evening it would be done,  we figured we would take it in that Friday afternoon (after a run and climbing of course)  and then it would be done by Mondy evening, (cutting it close but we were just going to try to be keeners to make sure it was ACTUALLY done by monday evening so we could fly out Tues morning).

So we get to the visa application centre and the same guy (Marcus) was helping us. We asked him to do the one day passport service and he said that they were closed on Monday because of a holiday in India, so he could get it to us by 10:00am Tuesday morning.  I told him that would be unacceptable as our flight left at 10:45am and we would never be able to make it.  We explained to him that we had changed our flights previously on his advice that Tuesday would be the best date to choose as we would for sure have our passports by then b/c we could do the one day service on Monday... Which he was now telling us was closed for an Indian holiday.  He called the consulate and said nothing can be done.  So we asked for the information to the consulate and went there ourselves.

We had to wait for a while, and then they sent us away for and hour, and when we came back, Voila!  Visa's in hand!  We were very grateful for what the consulate did as we knew we were an inconvenience, but it was their employee who had given us very poor advice!  So after we knew we were getting our visas we thought it would be nice to get them a little "Thank you" for doing the extra work required for our visas.
Oh who doesn't love some Mrs. Fields???

I'm excited not only for the visas, but that bag in my hand also has some Mrs. Fields for me! :)

So with Visas in hand, Lockey's first question was, should we change our flights to tomorrow?  So we did.  We changed flights, hotels, train tickets and packed all in one night and still somehow made it to the airport in the morning without any episodes (Thanks to my dad being the wonderful reliable man he is and calling 3 minutes before any of my alarms actually went off in the morning... Thanks Dad!)   And so this was the beginning of a New Adventure.... Keep reading, it only gets more interesting!
