So it feels like it has been a very long time since we have updated the blog, but in fact it has only been three days. But three very busy days, full of crazy/amazing Thailand.
On our last day of Ko Phi Phi we were -SLASH Cami was- not able to sleep very well because our hotel room is all made of tile and our door was pretty thin and 18 year old English boys are really loud. They were out partying all night and kept coming into the hotel room yelling their faces off. However, we got an alright sleep out of it and we were off to get breakfast. Scratch that before we went to breakfast we had to go to a travel agent to try and arrange a bus from Ao Nang to Koh Samui. We talked to this one lady that could barely understand what we wanted, then she called the owner or the manager or something and we waited for ten to fifteen minutes before she showed up. Then she gave us a little piece of paper that didn’t say very much and she told us to go THE Macdonald’s in Ao Nang, then show this piece of paper to a shuttle that will pick us up there at 11:00, which will then take us to another bus at 12:30, which will take us to Donsak Pier, which will take us to Samui. While it sounded a little weird, we didn’t question it and were off to Breakfast.

The Fruit With No Name! |
There are a lot of different fruits that we have never tried before so we stopped by a fruit stand and picked up some new types of fruit that the pictures will have to show you what they are because I still don’t know the names. While the one looked really cool as it is the inside of a big round spiky looking ball, it didn’t taste so great. The other is what we are eating in the picture and they were pretty good. We also had a coconut pastry and a hot dog pastry that were both very tasty.
After breakfast we wanted to explore the other side of the island, the non-Ko Phi Phi Leh side. So we rented a Kayak and a couple of paddles and started paddling upwind to get to a place called Monkey Beach. We went snorkeling when we got there and there was a decent reef. I, it’s Lockey if you haven’t figured that out yet, spotted a moray eel and Cami spotted a bunch more cool fish like the sea worm and a silver one with a blacked tip tail, and lots more that I don’t remember the names of.

Then after we were done snorkeling we went for a nice walk along the now isolated beach that we had all to ourselves, it was very picturesque. However, while we were walking through the surf a wave came in and bashed a huge rock onto my foot. It hurt pretty bad, but I hobbled the rest of the way back to our kayak without complaining too much. When we made it back to the kayak a bunch of Monkeys were standing over our Kayak, and I was like what the heck monkeys? One of them got all angry at me and got into his pounce position and started yelling at me. We found out later that you aren’t supposed to look at monkeys in the eyes, but I was staring him down. All of a sudden he screamed and pounced on the kayak. Being the chivalrous man that I am I quickly ran behind Cami and used her as a shield...

Perfect Beach |
Wait no, that’s not what happened. I donned my shining armor, used my already battered foot to kick sand and yell louder than the stupid monkey, cutting it again on another rock or piece of coral. Stupid rabid monkey. No need to worry though Cami gave me some of her magic band aids and kissed it all better, minus the kissed it all better part because my feet are kinda gross as it is.

Then after scaring off the monkeys we got back into the kayak and paddled back to Phi Phi, but it was a lot easier as the wind was at our back, so I let Cami do most of the paddling (no joke).

After we got back to the main island, we got ourselves ready to get on the Ferry to go to Railey and then on to TonSai. As per usual I slept for the most part of the ferry ride and Cami read her book. As we neared Railey you could start to see why climbers like to come here, there are sheer limestone walls every where you look with stalactites bigger than cars hanging from overhanging roofs on every side of the island.
We got off the ferry found a couple of girls that were willing to share a longtail boat over to Tonsai and paid the longtail boat two hundred baht to help us over to Tonsai, a 20 minute boat ride. While on the ride he also ran out of gas, he swore some in English and said that someone had stolen it. However he then shook his fuel pump and the fuel tank and was able to get us in without being slammed against the rocks.
Happily on land we then put our packs on and with all of our gear on we trudged through the sand, me in my boat shoes and Cami with bare feet, to our Hotel.
Shell filled sand + Bare feet + 70lbs of luggage = not fun times, but we made it there and were given a side car ride up to our hotel room, which was a nice little bungalow where we enjoyed a nice quiet sleep before another day of excitement!
